Hospice Coffee Morning, 23rd September

We're delighted to announce that we'll be holding our first coffee morning in what feels like too long!

TYs will be hosting the morning and we'd like to invite all parents to this worthwhile event.

More information will follow soon ☕️

Spanish Exchange Information from Mr Leon

Dear Parents,

I am writing to inform you that we will be doing two Spanish exchanges this academic year 2022/2023.

We are working with two schools in Spain. One of them is located in Alicante and the other one is in Valencia.

Enrolling in a foreign exchange programme is an eye-opening experience that no one should miss.

If you are interested in considering that, please do not hesitate to email gleon@stmc.ie for further information.

Kind regards,

Mr Gerardo Leon

Community Involvement Opportunities

Eco Unesco

Aisling Miller from Eco UNESCO spoke to some TYs today about the Youth for Sustainable Development programme : a 12-week after-school club held in Eco UNESCO's Dublin office Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5-7.

  • The YSD manual is available to purchase which sets out the activities of each week in detail.

  • The ECO-Academy offers a 2-hour online YSD taster where you learn about sustainable development, the SDGs and action projects

  • More info is available on their website or email ysd@ecounesco.ie

  • Clubs cover a range of topics from equality, to biodiversity, to taking action to protect the environment

  • Students have an opportunity to develop an action project and enter into the Eco UNESCO Young Environmentalist Awards

  • Students get to expand their skills, meet new people, attend regional events, advocate for the environment and have fun

121 Digital

This is a fantastic programme that will take place in the STMC Library. TYs teach older learners how to use digital devices. It's practical and (to many, surprisingly!) fun.

Dates and times will be confirmed when we meet to discuss what suits everyone best.

Boots for Africa

I'm looking for volunteers to help coordinate a collection of football boots and runners from all years in STMC.

These will be sent to townships across South Africa.
