Letter from Mr Hogan

Dear Parent / Guardian,

Many thanks for your cooperation in relation to advising me of absences. This is much appreciated. Thursday afternoon attendance in particular is being monitored as is attendance at PE class. In relation to PE class, such as this morning some classes had PE at 08:45, your son should go to the teacher, get marked present and then if excused proceed to the study hall. It is not appropriate to start the day later if not doing PE as the official school time is 08:45. Please reiterate this to your son and going forward from next week please adhere to this.

This is a very short term to the Mid Term break (5 weeks) and I draw your attention to the following announcements; Important Dates for the Diary Monday 6th Feb - Bank Holiday School closed Thursday 9th Feb - School closed for students - Staff In-Service Link to School Calendar : https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/embed?src=dwilson@stmc.ie&ctz=Europe/Dublin&pli=1 HSE Letter. - Student Illness Please see attached a letter received from the HSE concerning student illness.

Uniform & Punctuality Now that we have returned from break, students have been told they must have full uniform - jumpers not jackets OR hoodies and shoes not runners, in class. l have reminded all students that two LATES in any one week to Period 1 is an automatic Saturday detention. There will be Assembly for students regularly where I will reinforce this. A reminder again also about the use of mobile phones— it is still an issue with some students so please ask them to only use them at break times or if a teacher requests this in class. Student Achievement

If you have any Information about your son's achievements inside or outside of school, please send me an email at lhogan@stmc.ie Subject Choice Meetings It is intended to do Aptitude testing in advance of individual meetings with students regarding subject choice for 5th year. This process will take place in February and March before choices are made at the end of March. I will keep you informed of this and if you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact me. Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Liam Hogan TY Year Head/ Guidance Counsellor.
