TY Newsletter 17 - 21 May

You'll find the following in this week's TY Newsletter:

  • Some Highlights

  • Next week's schedule of out of school/class activities

  • Leaving Cert Exams Hall Duty

  • Work Placements (24 - 25 May)

A nice week all in all. Well done everyone in getting involved with such positivity.

Another SOAR Workshop, a mini film festival with ice cream and bbq.

In school, all years are also collecting €5 from each pupil to support Colin Judge on his journey to the Tokyo Paralympics. Please consider supporting such a worthwhile fundraiser.

It goes without saying too...congratulations to all the TYs who took part in the Darkness Into Light walk this week and to those who had participated in different events for Pieta House this year.

Some photos from Saturday's gloomy yet cheerful morning (I'm sure you could find a metaphor in there!)

SOAR Hustle Programme

SOAR have also asked if there is anyone interested in taking their workshops to a deeper level during June:

"Hustle is a 4 session online program. It focuses on Character Development for Teenagers to explore more of who they are and their unique contribution to society. The program includes experiential activities and an exploration of our Emotional Ability and Knowledge."

17 - 21 May

Schedule of Activities

Since Monday, we have permission to take part in out of school activities - up to this week we has been extremely limited in what we could do as a TY.

I'm glad to share with you the schedule for this week. I will be updating times on this schedule asap.

All Activities planned for next week (with the exception of the Carlingford Adventure Day & Driving Lessons will finish by 1pm - this will allow for TYs to return to school for extra curricular activities).

Please note that we will be staggering the groups departing meeting points for the hike & kayaking on Monday & Tuesday.

**It is important you arrive at the meeting points BEFORE the departure time. We will not be able to wait beyond the the scheduled time for latecomers as we will be operating a pod system**. Don't forget to bring return DART fare.

If you are unable to attend or are running late for any reason you must have a parent/guardian email me at acopeland@stmc.ie on your behalf.

Absences without permission throughout the week will effect participation in the Carlingford Adventure Day and Dublin Zoo visit.

ACTIVITIES WEEK 5 is scheduled to run as normal too.

Leaving Cert Exams Hall Duty

Mr O'Donnell has asked for 5 TYs who would be available to help out in the school during the Leaving Cert Exams.

You can put your name down for consideration on this form HERE

Work Placements (24 - 25 May)

A reminder that Groups 2 & 5 are scheduled for upcoming Work Placements during Activities Week 5.
