Activities Week 3: Schedules


Group 4.1 Cookery

Venue: STMC Pavilion, Upper Room


10am - 2pm Daily

(Please note that Monday’s class will finish at 1pm)


Dress Code: Non uniform

Please arrive 10 minutes early


Group 4.2 & 4.4 Work Placement (WP)


Insurance details can be found HERE


You will also receive a reflection form on Monday & Friday. Please be sure to fill this in.


Group 4.3 Boxing & Self Defence


Venue: Chapter 2 Fitness

Heather Road, Sandyford Industrial Estate

9:50am - 2:20pm


Dress Code: Non uniform

Group 4.5 Bike Skills & Maintenance



10:30am - 1pm Monday

9:30 - 1pm (all other days)

Please arrive 10 minutes early


As discussed - each student is to bring their bike.


If needed, DART passengers are permitted to travel with their bikes on the on DART services from 9:30am.


Travel time from STMC to The Bike Hub is 25 minutes by train


Monday’s later start time is to facilitate you to bring your bike by DART if needed. Bike Hub will allow you to store your bike at their location overnight for the duration of the course if required.


Some of the bike skills/education sessions will be taking place outdoors so please layer up! (eg t-shirt, jumper, wind cheater, warm jacket)

Alternative Camino Trip (Portuguese Way)

Expression of interest


A number of you have been in contact regarding additional places on the TY Camino Trip (of which the application deadline was 26th November).


Mr Doolan & I are exploring the possibility of another Camino trip (along the Portuguese Way) that would take place in the final week in May too.


We don't have costs at this point. However I envisage the costs to be approx €650 (dependent on numbers travelling)


Parents: If you are interested in the possibility of your son taking part in this trip you can fill in this form here please.

 

Spanish Immersion Trip Opportunity


For Spanish language students -


This immersion trip is a 7 day, 6 nights trip to Murcia, Spain. Students stay with Spanish families, usually 2 students per family. They'll receive twelve 50 minute Spanish classes during the week and go on day trips and tours of the city including a visit to the ruins of a Roman theatre, beach visits and other cultural activities.


There are 15 places on this trip and students will be accompanied by Ms. McKay and the course coordinator in Spain.


The price of the trip is €550 (flights not included).


When? The week of May 23rd 2022 (date may vary slightly depending on flights).
