Assessment Week (& Activities Week)
A short reminder:
Assessments will take place Monday - Wednesday* this week as school will be closed this Thursday & Friday
(4.2 will take a driver theory test & driving lessons on Tuesday - I will call to class to go through this with you)
Your first Activities Week will run 4 - 8th October. The schedule is as follows:
Group 4.1 Work Placement (WP)
(4.1 students should fill in THIS FORM by 1pm Monday)
Group 4.2 Bike Skills & Maintenance
(Ideally you should bring your own bike to this workshop. Please call into the office on Monday if you do not have access to a bike.)
Group 4.3 Cookery
(If you have any dietary requirements - please drop into the TYC Office on Monday)
Group 4.4 WP
(4.4 students should fill in THIS FORM by 1pm Monday)
Group 4.5 Boxing & Self Defence
(I'll have more details re times, locations & dress codes next week.)
Well done everyone on completing this tough hike (31km) and for making the camp out such a pleasant place to be.
If anyone is interested in some more day hikes drop into the TYC office and let me know.
We'll see about making them a more common occurrence...although maybe the next one could be a little shorter.

Time Requirements
With exception to the Adventure Journey, each challenge area requires a minimum participation of 1 hour per week for 13 weeks. The Adventure Journey takes place over a
minimum of 2 days and 1 night.
Additional Weeks
An additional 13 weeks must be completed in one challenge area of your choice. This could be an activity you really enjoyed, or an activity in which you feel you still have room for improvement. As a result, it will take at least 26 weeks to complete your Bronze Award, however everyone is free to complete the award at their own pace.

TY Rep 7 Aside Football Competition in aid of UNICEF (14th Oct)
A note to mention your reps will be calling class to class to give you information on the plans for the TY 7 aside football competition in aid of UNICEF's Get a Vaccine, Give a Vaccine programme.
Current arrangements:
Teams will be picked from last year's 3rd class groups at random.
Those who are unable to play will be asked to perform stewarding roles.
Matches will be 4 minutes a half.
There will be prizes for the top 3 finishers.
Driving Lessons
Virtual RCSI TY Programme
The 2022 programme will again be virtual and will take place from Monday, 28 February to Friday, 4 March.
Medicine will take place from Monday to Wednesday, followed by Pharmacy on Thursday, and Physiotherapy on Friday.
"All sections of the programme are carried out by leading professionals in their respective areas with a wide variety of topics – including general practice, heart surgery, pathology, paediatrics, forensic medicine, transplants, obstetrics and gynaecology, pharmacy and physiotherapy being covered during the programme."
