TY Newsletter 4th - 8th October (Activities Week 1)



As you know, there will be no classes next week.

Group 4.1 & 4.4 Work Placement (WP)

Group 4.2 Bike Skills & Maintenance

Venue: DLR Lexicon, Queen's Rd, Dún Laoghaire (cafe entrance, Ground Floor)

10am - 1pm Monday

Please arrive 10 minutes early


As discussed with the group- each student is to bring their bike.


A good deal of the bike skills/education sessions will be taking place outdoors so please layer up! (eg t-shirt, jumper, wind cheater, warm jacket)


Please bring a packed lunch


Group 4.3 Cookery

Venue: STMC Pavilion, Upper Room

10am - 2pm Daily

Dress Code: Non uniform

Please arrive 10 minutes early


Group 4.5 Boxing & Self Defence

Venue: Chapter 2 Fitness,

Heather Road, Sandyford Industrial Estate

9:50am - 2:20pm

Dress Code: Non uniform

 

Driving Lessons

As part of Driver Theory Assessment 4.2 put things into practice on Thursday.


All class groups will be taking practical lessons (as well as mock theory tests) as part of their assessment in this module subject.

 

Youth For Sustainable Development (YSD) Programme with ECO UNESCO

The Youth For Sustainable Development (YSD) Programme is an afterschools programme for people from 15-17 who are interested in sustainability, environmentalism, and gaining skills and knowledge to be able to take environmental action. The programme looks at:

The Sustainable Development Goals

Climate Change and Climate Justice

Biodiversity

Global Inequality

Leadership and group work skills

There will be groups starting on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Interested students are to SIGN UP HERE to register their interest in the programme.


The programme runs for 12 weeks (perfect for the Community Particpation Section of Gaisce Bronze Award) and starts the week 11th Oct. It will run in a city centre location TBC
