TY 5-a-side Football Blitz

Well done to all the Transition Year boys who participated in a fun and competitive afternoon of 5-a-side football at UCD.

A special thank you to Chester Ryan for coordinating the teams and match tables on the day – your effort ensured everything ran smoothly.

InterAction Council Opening Ceremony

St. Michael’s College has received an invitation to attend the opening ceremony of the InterAction Council’s annual plenary session. This prestigious event will be held at 9:30am on Wednesday, 7th May at the InterContinental Hotel, Ballsbridge.

The InterAction Council is an independent international organisation composed of former Presidents and Prime Ministers from around the world. Established in 1983, the Council brings together experienced states-people to address pressing global issues in the areas of peace and security, economic revitalisation and ethical governance.

This year’s plenary session will be held in Dublin, and will be attended by distinguished global leaders, including former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern.

We're honoured to have been invited to attend the opening ceremony of this significant international forum.

Gambling Addiction Workshop

8th May, 8:45am, Assembly Hall

We're pleased to host a Gambling Addiction Awareness Workshop, delivered by Tony O’Reilly

Tony O’Reilly is a qualified Addiction Counsellor and a nationally recognised speaker on gambling harm prevention. The session is based on his lived experience of severe gambling addiction, which began with a small bet and ultimately impacted every aspect of his life.

Today, he dedicates his work to raising awareness and providing education about the risks associated with gambling, especially in the context of our increasingly digital world.

The workshop is interactive and educational, offering insights into the psychology of gambling and gaming addiction.

It is designed to be both informative and engaging, and concludes with a Q&A session for students and staff. This is an important learning opportunity for our school community.
