TY Work Placements

Parents:

As you know, this year will have its challenges in terms of TYs finding Work Placements.

I'd like to ask if any families are connected to businesses that would be happy to accommodate boys who were unable to secure placements as a result of, for example, the number of large offices that are now working remotely.

I am building up a file of businesses who would be happy to take on TYs for a week long job experience during the Activities Weeks. If you would like to add your business to the list you can simply fill in the form HERE. I will follow up with a short phone call to talk through a few details and answer any questions. Please note that this is only a preliminary list and that you should not feel obliged to provide a placement having filled in the form.

All TYs are covered regarding Insurance from the school. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Activities Week Street Art option

I'm delighted to announce a 5th option for Activities week 1 (5 - 9 Oct).

Ink Fun, Street artists Kade and Vents (samples of their work is above) will be running a workshop in street art for a max of 14 participants. We will be working on creating a wall & ground mural at the side of the Swimming Pool building for the whole school to enjoy.

To something like this?

If you are interested in taking part just drop by the office and we can have a short chat.

This will not effect your places in Cookery, Bike Mechanics or Boxing Self Defence. You will be able to reschedule these to a different activities week. Work Placements can be moved to alternative activities weeks too but this may effect your Cookery, Bike Mechanics or Boxing Self Defence courses.

UCD School of Architecture & Engineering Workshop

1st October

We are looking for some sustainability conscious TYs who care about their local communities to work with UCD in collecting data on local traffic and air pollution.

Anyone interested in the sciences, geography, engineering, architecture, programming etc should seriously consider signing up for this hands on workshop.

Please drop by my office if you would like more information.
