Expressions of Interest for TY Activities
I've emailed all TYs to ask which Activities they'd be most open to getting involved in. Many of these activities will fulfil the Gaisce challenge areas.
Please note that the deadline for responding is this Wednesday. Click the link HERE to complete the survey if you haven't done so already [TYs can only sign up to activities with their Gmail STMC.ie addresses-if there is any issue, please consult with Aoife in the Library].
Activities that will run throughout the year include:
Public Speaking
Wheelchair Basketball
Homeless Contact Work
Senior Book Club (meet once a month)
Live Saving Skills (before school)
Creative Writing (with Annemarie Ni Chuirrean)
121 Digital
Senior Debating
Windsurfing (Wednesdays)
Coding
1st Year Mentoring
Touch Rugby (post February)

Deadline: Gaisce & Jumpzone Waivers
Last Tuesday all TYs received consent forms/waivers that they were asked to get signed if they wanted to take part in the Gaisce Adventure Journey and Award as well as the Junior Cert Celebrations at Jumpzone.
The deadline is Monday 11th September.
All information on these can be found in last week's Welcome Newsletter.
These can be downloaded in the DOWNLOADS section of the TY site.
Hospice Coffee Morning

Every year we ask TYs to donate €3 in aid of Our Lady's Hospice & Care Services along with baked cakes for the Hospice Coffee Morning!!
The €3 will be collected this Tuesday. Cakes can be left in my office (or Mr O'Connor's or Mr O'Donnell's) this Thursday or on Friday morning. If anybody can afford to donate spot prizes, they would be gratefully received. Any help is a huge help. The Coffee Morning, in aid of Harold's Cross & Blackrock Hospice, itself is on from 9:25am in the Assembly Hall. If that's a little late, a group of TYs will be manning a take away coffee stall from 8:00am at the Pavilion. So no need to worry, you can get your pick me up and breakfast cakes all through the day!
A very special thanks to all the parents who have volunteered for the day.
TY Talk: "HOW TO DRESS YOURSELF?!"
12th September, 1:35 - 3:35
Lwr Study
Past pupil Adrian Copeland from Louis Copeland & Sons, Pembroke St, will be speaking to TYs this Tuesday about how to dress for the world of work. He'll be going through all the small things that can make a difference to making an outfit "pop" - whether it's casual, semi formal or formal.
Adrian will also be bringing in some of Conor McGregor's suits that are being tailored for the MMA fighter and he'll be showing the lads what Mr McGregor likes in terms of style choices! We've even got a few TYs who'll be making shapes on the catwalk!!
