TY Rotations
Based on feedback received from many TYs this year, there will be a small change to some of the activities coming up on a Tuesday afternoon. These are aimed at satisfying the mixed tastes of the group and are designed for small groups in order to facilitate maximum participation.
ALL GROUP LISTS CAN BE FOUND HERE
The activities are as follows:
Drama Workshops with Rex Ryan (1:35pm in the Pavilion)
Actor and acting teacher, past pupil Rex has been recognised with 5 star reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe and was nominated for Best Actor in the 2013 Dublin Fringe for his performance in The Birthday Man.
Toastmasters with Simon Scriver (1:35pm in the Library)
Simon recently spoke at TEDx Dublin Institute of Technology and is current Ireland & UK Champion Toastmaster and last year, World Semi Finalist. Simon will run a 2 hour intensive workshop on best practices to represent yourself in public speaking.
Museum Visits (Departing school 1:35pm from the Ailesbury Road exit)
Each group will be taken to the best museum and gallery experiences in Dublin.
Touch Rugby with Touch Rugby Ireland (1:35pm at the Front Pitch)
This is a social rugby league that will run over seven weeks. We'll be teaming up with some guest school teams to add a little diversity to STMC rugby! Players who would like to take this more seriously will have an opportunity to try out and compete at a National level too!
Mystery Trip! (Meet at the Swimming Pool - departure times will vary)
This is the random one:) It'll be something that you may not have tried/ever intend on trying...but all good fun!
Survival Skills with Bushcraft Ireland (Meet in the Lwr Study at 1:35pm)
Participants will be introduced to the five core topics of bushcraft – fire, water, shelter, food and craft, and will learn the basics of how to get out and about and enjoy bushcrafting.
Drumming with Peter Crann from We Drum Ireland (Meet in the Assembly Hall at 1:35pm)
This workshop will be a fantastic way to make a lot of noise and actively explore musical culture from around the world.
Module 3 Assessments will take place 15th - 19th January
Please note that if you are not in for any reason, it is your responsibility to arrange project submissions and exam rescheduling with individual teachers.
Work Placements
Due to Work Placements being consistantly cited as the most popular experience for TYs in St Michael's we have scheduled 2 weeks of WP February/March (19th Feb - 2nd Mar) outside the Activities Week Schedule.
The next Activity Week WP will be 22nd - 26th Jan.
